A training course designed to provide veterinary orthopedic surgeons with both the theoretical knowledge to select the most appropriate surgical technique for treating cranial cruciate ligament rupture in dogs, and the practical insights to correctly perform the X-TPLO procedure.
Although derived from the standard TPLO, this technique is unique in the way it achieves osteotomy rotation: without inserting any pin in the proximal tibial segment, but instead performing a progressive, controlled, and stable rotation. This allows the surgeon to manage the procedure in a more consistent and reproducible way.
The procedure is feasible for most orthopedic surgeons, but some specific steps require proper training. For this reason, the course is recommended for surgeons already experienced with similar procedures.
